A house among the pines

An explorable reconstruction of a house and its woodland setting in Camp Sherman, Oregon, built in Blender from architectural drawings and public terrain data.

The architecture

The model follows the September 3, 2025 engineering set, including the main house, two lofts, studio, garage, and picnic shelter. The drawings credit Seri Yeckel Design LLC for design and GONZÁLEZ Architectural Design & Rendering LLC for drawing production.

Natural wood, dark metal roofing, and stone form the visualization palette. Materials, furnishings, fixtures, lighting, and details absent from the drawings are interpretations. This represents the proposed design; it is not an as-built record or a construction model.

The landscape

Building placement, the immediate creek alignment, and tree annotations come from the site survey. Ground elevations come from DOGAMI's bare-earth lidar terrain mosaic, sampled on a ten-foot grid.

Survey tree label positions are approximate anchors. Tree heights, crowns, distant woodland, understory, creek width, and small rocks are representative. The terrain and the drawings use different elevation datums, reconciled locally for this visualization.

Photographic wood, stone, bark and ground maps are calibrated derivatives of the credited CC0 sources. Woven textiles, mineral surface variations, conifer meshes, needle textures, spring moss variations and groundcover were authored for this project.
